Dear Mr. Rice,
I wrote to you because I am also an alumnus of ABC University. I heard that the school will be having its 40th Alumni Homecoming on May 25, 2011. As an alumnus, I would really want to be on the said date. However, my schedules are hectic and I am in Europe on the said date. I also heard that you are looking for donations for the upcoming alumni. I decided to participate on this event by donating a small amount of money to the University. Together with this letter is a small amount of money.
I hope it helps on your future plans for the University.
